An unexpected gift of some Comté samples motivated me to experiment with my most favourite of cheeses. I nibbled on the naked 36 month matured sample as I used a mix of 18 & 24 month aged samples to produce these cheesy swirls.
I’ve been forced to start sorting through my files and piles and put some order into my life. How I’ve managed to gather all of them mystifies me but I have. But in doing so I came across some random images that I’ll share with you.
Growing your own tomatoes invariably means you end up with some green tomatoes at the end of the season. This year we had a glut of green and so I decided it was time to get out the preserving jars and make some chutney. This is an easy, forgiving recipe.
I rarely see celery with a full head of leaves so when we picked up a fresh green plant at the market I just had to find a way of using the leaves. Those that I didn’t use I either stored (unwashed) in a paper towel in the fridge or rolled up (washed) into a fat cigar shape in cling film and stored in the freezer to slice as I needed at a later date. But first I made a soup.
