I’ve been forced to start sorting through my files and piles and put some order into my life. How I’ve managed to gather all of them mystifies me but I have. But in doing so I came across some random images that I’ll share with you.
Growing your own tomatoes invariably means you end up with some green tomatoes at the end of the season. This year we had a glut of green and so I decided it was time to get out the preserving jars and make some chutney. This is an easy, forgiving recipe.
I rarely see celery with a full head of leaves so when we picked up a fresh green plant at the market I just had to find a way of using the leaves. Those that I didn’t use I either stored (unwashed) in a paper towel in the fridge or rolled up (washed) into a fat cigar shape in cling film and stored in the freezer to slice as I needed at a later date. But first I made a soup.
I know I’m not alone in craving chicken soup when I’m feeling poorly but sometimes you need a change and this cold-busting soup is just the thing the wage war on cold germs and just the thing to give you a hug if you do fall on the cold battlefield.
I’ve been bitten by the gardening bug again which explains, somewhat, the lack of posts this Spring. Now, with seedlings in the ground and a second round of sowing about to start, I took some time to sketch and let you know I’m still here. And perhaps I should mention that I have been fighting with some of the locals….
