Post image for A trifling dessert to end 2011: Chocolate & Pear Trifle

I’m not a huge dessert fan but I do like trifle and I do like chocolate and I quite fancied having an easy alternative to Christmas Pudding for Christmas Dinner. This chocolate, boozy trifle (can there be any other sort?) was a hit on the day and was even better a day or so after! It’s one I’ll be making again for sure.

However, you can also incorporate the leftovers into some great titbits for the festive season. For a few suggestions, read on.

Post image for Some favourites for supper: brown shrimp, mustard dill potatoes and hot smoked salmon

I was lucky to come across some fresh brown shrimp at the market and devised these dishes to allow them to shine and delight. Simple salads that brightened up a dark November evening. It was a really good combination of flavours, even if I say so myself!
