Celebrate St Patrick’s Day next weekend with 24 hours of Irish flavours. To get you started I’ve illustrated some recipe guides for you to download, print off and follow. Begin with my favourite bread, Irish Brown Soda Bread that you butter thickly with lovely (Irish) butter and, my preference, a good marmalade. That should set you up and see you through to lunchtime.

This colourful salad is just the dish to combat the changeable weather we’re having. Fresh baby spinach leaves, warm roasted squash, healthy light tofu will add a spring to your step whether you find yourself eating on a mild Spring day or a chilly Winter leftover. Lovely enough to star as a main I think it would also pair well with a roasted beetroot salad, perhaps with an orange vinaigrette, or a rice and bean salad.

I’ve added some daffodils to the header and now raise a leek in thanks to the friendly, lilting Welsh. I even forgive them for beating us in the 6 Nations. Almost.

My pleasure with my pancake pan knows no bounds. Here are three more, very different, pancake recipes for you to try out this Tuesday, Pancake Day. One for breakfast, one for lunch and one sweet perfumed Egyptian delight to scoff after last week’s chickpea pancake recipe which you’ll be making for dinner! Thanks accepted in all currencies.
