Okay, Okay, been busy lately what with Olympic viewing and visitors and general work and the like but I’ve thought of you tut tutting about how slack I’ve become and muttering about how if I say I’ll keep a blog then I should actually blog a bit more often. Hear ya, hear ya. Goodness, ree-lax.
So I received Signe Johansen’s second book, “Scandilicious Baking” and I thought, “Cool. Ah, I like the look of that… and that and.. oh, that… “. That’s when I stopped oohing and ahhhing and started baking.
Which means I could say how the Sticky Spicy Ginger Cake was delicious, moist and improved with age (it did). Or I could say how the Toasted Oats, Date & Hazelnuts Cookies were just the ticket for munching on with a cuppa while watching Bradley Wiggins win a gold medal (they were). Or I could say how surprised I was how straightforward it was to make the Plaited Milk Loaf and how stunning it looked (it sure did) and how brown shrimp in brown butter with dill was a perfect match with it (it most certainly was).
Or I could just draw them (I did).
‘Nuff said. Great book. Highly recommend.
Oh look, horses tapdancing to music… that’s a sport? Who knew? (settles down with some more tea and cookies).

Reading. Liking. Would love to stop and chat but another Irish boxer (and not a 4-legged dog type) about to seek a shiny medal. …….. oh, wish I had those cookies to nibble on!! Darn Olympics!!!!
